And so begins our challenge to go one month without meat, fish or poultry. Really, I don't think it will be hard to do but hey, it's just day one and it's only been 4 hours since I've been up. I remembered our plan this morning when Mr. Butler made his traditional waffles for NY Day breakfast -- WAIT, no bacon!
It's a cold day here in the desert, just 29 degrees last night. Pray for our plants, especially those ridiculously expensive ficus trees. We lost two huge trees a few years ago with a hard frost and we're hoping that doesn't happen again. Mr. Butler insisted our window coverings be off the window to entice the warmth from the house to escape to the trees close to the house. I'm not sure that scheme will work but we'll try.
